Account and data deletion

Request deletion from VivahaBharath without signing in or reinstalling the mobile app.

Request deletion by email

Email privacy@vivahabharath.com, preferably from your registered email address. Use the subject VivahaBharath account and data deletion request and ask us to delete your account and review its associated personal data for erasure. Include your registered email address and member ID if known.

If you cannot access your registered email, explain that in your request so we can discuss ownership verification. Do not send passwords, OTPs, payment PINs or identity-document attachments in your initial email.

Compose deletion request

This opens your email app; send the email to submit your request. If no email app opens, use your usual email service and the address and instructions above. Opening this page or pressing the button does not delete your account or send a request automatically.

What happens next

  1. Our privacy team reviews the email and verifies account ownership before making changes.
  2. We review account deletion and associated-data erasure, and explain any records retained for legal, security, billing or dispute purposes and the expected handling period.
  3. We confirm the outcome by email. For follow-up or a formal complaint, use Grievance Redressal.

You can also request deletion of specific personal data without deleting the whole account. State which information you want reviewed; removing information needed for a feature may affect that feature.

What account deletion changes

In-app: open Profile → Account settings → Delete account and confirm. On the website: open My Profile → Account controls → Delete account. If you cannot sign in, use the external deletion-request instructions.

Removed from the active application: your matrimonial profile, profile photos and verification uploads stored with it, member conversations and messages, identity-correction proofs, your marriage-closure submission, AI search text and results, embeddings, behavioural history and preferences, and owned wedding listings and invitations (including their guest responses). Sign-in is disabled, the account email is replaced with a deletion placeholder and password credentials are cleared. Pending verification/reset tokens are removed.

Records not automatically erased by this action: account/security audit records, payment/refund and billing records (including the email on issued documents), reports and support/privacy cases. Limited contact-access, launch-offer, AI cost/allowance and greeting-delivery records are retained for accounting and misuse prevention; these are distinct from deleted AI search text and results. Greeting recipient email addresses and unsubscribe credentials are removed. Request an associated-data erasure review through the privacy contact; we will identify any records that must be retained and the reason.

Pending billing emails are cancelled and their queued message content removed; an email already being delivered may still arrive. Account deletion does not itself issue a refund. Save any billing documents you need first.

Closing after marriage or hiding a profile is not account deletion. Those actions keep the account and its data. Deleting your account cannot be undone.

Active-database deletion does not immediately erase backups or copies held by service providers. Retention exceptions and timing depend on the records involved. Read our Privacy Policy retention section for more information.
